Prise de Fer Fencing Club Camps 2010

 

 

 

 

Elite Sabre Camp –

August 2nd - 7th, 2010

 

Coached by Mr. Andy Ma of Fencing Academy of South Jersey, Ariana Klinkov, David Sach, Bogna Jozwiak, Jerome Cordero and David Blake. Andy Ma has coached a number of national and world champions as well as US National Team members in foil and sabre. David Sach is the coach of Alex O’Connell, British team member 2008 Olympics. Bogna Jozwiak is a world championship Finalist and member of the European championship gold medal sabre team. Ariana Klinkov and David Blake have coached over 90 national medalists including youth national champions, Junior Olympic champions, and US National Team members.

This camp will incorporate physical conditioning, footwork, tactical drills and competition fencing. This camp is for fencers with competition experience and will be attended by a number of top junior and senior competitors. There will be a tournament on the final day of camp for camp attendees.

Last year’s camp had 40 fencers from all over the country, as well as members of the British Cadet and Women’s Junior Team.

In order to accommodate fencers from out of state we can arrange home stay with local families.

 

Camp will run from 9am to 3pm each day. Early drop- off is available.

 

Cost - $550 or $175 per day  (limited home stay availability for additional $100)

Intermediate 3 weapon fencing camp

July 26th - 30th 2010

 

The Prise de Fer beginner and intermediate camp is for fencers with class experience through fencers who are preparing to enter into competitive fencing. The coaches include David Blake and Ariana Klinkov. Ariana Klinkov and David Blake have coached 86 national medalists including youth national champions, Junior Olympic champions, and US National Team members.

This camp will incorporate physical conditioning, footwork, tactical drills and competition fencing. Fencers will learn the fundamentals of foil, epee or sabre and progress through individual electric bouting and team format fencing. Fencers will also view video footage from world championships in all three disciplines.

This year we will have a number of junior sabre fencers from England.

Table pool, ping pong and other games will be available during lunch break. Fencers may bring bag lunches or can order from a local deli each day.

 

Camp will run from 9am to 3pm each day. Early drop- off is available.


Cost - $450 or $150 per day
